Since graduating from the Ballarat Academy of Performing Arts in 1999, Suzie Franke has worked extensively in a range of technical and managerial positions in the Performing Arts. Suzie began her career as a theatre technician, working in many regional venues across Victoria. In 2000she became the Venue Technician at the Clocktower Centre, in Melbourne's North Western suburbs, where she worked for six years.
Her freelance work has seen her in positions including; Production Manager on Antigone, Square Eyes, The Pitch, and The Golden Age for Monash University Academy of Performing Arts; Assistant Stage Manager on SCAM, Company Production Manager for the national tour of Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks, starring Todd McKenney & Nancye Hayes and Lighting Designer for the national tour of The Carpenters from Kempsey all for Christine Dunstan Productions (CDP).
In 2002, she established Blackbird Productions with Matthew Henderson. She has since held Producer titles on all Blackbird Productions shows and was also the Lighting Designer for A New Brain, Falsettos and Dance Through Me.
