Formed in November 2001, Blackbird Productions is owned and operated by Suzie Franke and Matthew Henderson and has fast gained a reputation within Australia and internationally as an exciting and innovative theatre company. Blackbird Productions is dedicated to producing and providing high quality entertainment experiences with exceptional production standards that appeal to all age groups and backgrounds.

With a strong background in management and technical theatre Suzie and Matthew have worked professionally in most facets of the industry across the board. They have a wealth of experience in a wide cross section of genres including Dance, Drama, Opera, Musical Theatre, Festivals and Events holding positions ranging from senior management to creative design and consultancy, education and mentoring and hands on technical roles.

Blackbird Productions have gained recognition for their work with four nominations at the APACA Annual Drover awards for National Touring securing the award for 'Road Crew Excellence' at the awards ceremony at Old Parliament House in Canberra in 2005.

2010 marks Blackbird Productions West End debut with the highly acclaimed Australian play ‘Holding the Man’.
